Born and raised in Cairns and the Atherton Tablelands, I started my career in Insurance fresh out of high school at local insurance brokerages, where I obtained my Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) and various other qualifications.
In 2012 I decided to take a career break and move to Canada for a few years. When returning to Australia, I relocated to Melbourne where I worked for one of the largest insurance brokerages in the world. After spending Covid being locked down in Melbourne, my family and I made the decision to return home to Cairns so that my daughter can grow up in beautiful FNQ and enjoy all it has to offer.
I began working with Astute GI in 2023 and I’m thrilled to be working for a local insurance broker, developing relationships, and helping locals with all their insurance needs!
The staff in the Cairns office were amazing. The receptionist was the best I have ever encountered in a business and any staff that walked past us said hello. The entire office appears to be a very friendly, happy and vibrant workplace!
We recently had an appointment with Astute to help us sort out our mortgage needs. From the moment we stepped into the building we were made to feel welcome. From Shae on the front desk to Damian during our appointment. Damian went above and beyond to help us with our needs, explaining things simply and offering further support. Being self employed is always a bit of a struggle when it comes to home loans. The amazing team at Astute made this happen for us. Their down to earth yet professional approach is very reassuring. Excellent customer service and follow up throughout the process that made it less nerve racking. My husband and I went to Astute today, firstly met with Shae at the front reception and had a chat with her. It was lovely to chat with such a friendly happy lady who made us feel welcome.
We went upstairs and met with John Watts for some financial advice. We have known John Watts for over 10 years now, and truly admire his honesty and ‘no beating around the bush business eiquette’.
